Question:

I plan to be visiting San Francisco and I am wondering is there a bus or other public transportation to Golden Gate Park. Thank you for any information you can give me.

Answer:

There is the Muni (San Francisco Municipal Railway) A range of MUNI trip planners and schedules allow individuals to plan the best route for reaching the Golden Gate Park. Additional information can be located by calling 415-673-MUNI (6864) or visiting http://www.sfmta.com/cms/home/sfmta.sfmta or www.sfmuni.com.

For example, the #44-O’Shaughnessy bus stops across from the Academy at the Music Concourse on Tea Garden Drive (southbound) and in front of the Academy on Music Concourse Drive (northbound). The #5-Fulton stops at 8th Avenue and Fulton Street, just outside the park. The N-Judah Muni Metro streetcar, which is wheelchair-accessible, stops at 9th Avenue and Irving Street.

A park-wide shuttle is available on Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays. The cost is $2/person for a round trip ticket. The shuttle runs between 9 am and 6 pm – every 15 to 20 minutes. More information on the shuttle service, including a map of stops is found here: http://tinyurl.com/6ccnshc

There is a bus. The Golden Gate Concourse Authority provides a complete schedule with additional details found by calling (415) 831-2727.

Enjoy your visit,
