The trees, flowers, rocks, memorials, meadows and other natural gems of the AIDS Memorial Grove certainly elevate the warmth, beauty and deep meaning of commitment. The Grove provides an inspirational, reflective, and beautiful location to host a wedding in Golden Gate Park. It is also a popular place to plan a commitment ceremony or celebrate any other family get-togethers, life events or rites of passage.
The AIDS Memorial Grove is located on the eastern end of Golden Gate Park at the intersection of Bowling Green Drive and Nancy Pelosi Drive (formerly known as Middle Drive) – across from the tennis courts. You can easily reach the wheelchair-accessible location by car or public transportation.
When booking a wedding at the AIDS Memorial Grove, homemade and catered food is allowed with the exception of barbecued foods, as BBQ grills are not permitted within this space. All types of beverages are allowed at the Grove, including alcohol. When using amplified music or other sound equipment, you are expected to keep the volume at a reasonable level and be respectful of others visiting the park. Unless you have been granted permission from the NAMG, Recreation & Park, and local fire departments, candles and fire are not allowed at the Grove.
As you consider the AIDS Memorial Grove for your Golden Gate Park wedding location, keep in mind that the Grove prefers that large gatherings are limited to usage of three hours or less to allow the public to enjoy the space as well.
