Transportation from the Whitcomb Hotel to Golden Gate Park

1. Car or Taxi

The shortest route by car or taxi to Golden Gate Park is to take Fell Street – it is about a 19-minute trip.

Start by heading southwest on Market Street toward Hayes Street. Make a slight right onto Hayes Street, followed by a left turn onto Octavia Street. Next, take the second right onto Fell Street. Turn right onto Scott Street, and then take the first left onto Hayes Street. You will then take the third left onto Baker Street, and then make a right turn to reach Fell Street. Continue onto John F Kennedy Drive, and then make a slight left onto Kezar Drive. Continue onto Lincoln Way, and then make a right turn onto 9th Avenue. Continue onto Martin Luther King Jr Drive. Make a right turn onto Transverse Drive, and then continue onto Middle Drive West to reach the center of the park.

2. Bike

Start by heading southwest on Market Street toward Hayes Street. Make a slight right onto San Francisco Bicycle Route 32, and then continue onto San Francisco Bicycle Route 830. A right turn keeps you on the bike route. You will also need to make a left to keep following the bike route.

It will take 30 minutes to reach the middle of the park on bike.

3. Light Rail

The N – Judah (Direction: Ocean Beach via Downtown) takes about 39 minutes to reach the middle of Golden Gate Park from the Whitcomb. The light rail departs Metro Civic Center Station/Outbd, and arrives at Judah Street and 19th Avenue. You will walk up 19th Avenue to enter the park.

4. Bus

The quickest bus route to take for visiting Golden Gate Park from the Whitcomb is the 5-bus (Fulton – Direction: Ocean Beach), which departs from Mcallister Street and Hyde Street, and arrives at Fulton Street and 22nd Avenue. It will take about 36 minutes to reach the center of the park.
