With an impressive lineup of musicians, artists, and vendors – the Golden Gate Park plays host to the 2009 Outside Lands Music and Art Festival between Friday, August 28 and Sunday, August 30. This extravaganza promises much more than just your favorite artists hitting the stage – you’ll have a chance to browse arts and crafts, experience new products, sample tasty treats, and embrace green initiatives. Just some of the events and activities to anticipate include:

Winehaven
Head for Speedway Meadows to experience 75 different wines from local makers – served in a signature stemless recyclable glass. The beverages make perfect companions to the festival’s Hog Island Oysters, Charles Chocolate’s, and Mission Minis cupcakes.

Outsider Art
Besides dressing up the stages, artwork by Chris Johanson, Jeff Canham, Matt Leines and Rich Jacobs will be on display throughout the festival. In Lindley Meadow, stands a wall of art by Clare Rojas.

Eco Lands
At Speedway Meadow, check out the world of alternative energy with the solar stage, enjoy fresh produce at the farmer’s market, trade cups or bottles at the recycling store, take home rock posters at the silent auction, sample Whole Foods natural treats, explore the possibilities of Toyota’s 3rd Generation Hybrid, or recycle your old, unwanted cell phone(s).
