Looking for a family-friendly event this weekend that doesn’t cost a thing to enjoy? Mark your calendars for the first major festival hosted by the ‘Life is Good’ crew that will be held on the West Coast – at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park.

On May 16th, 2009 (11am to 5pm), the great outdoors will serve as the backdrop for a live music extravaganza, featuring the talents of Martin Sexton, ALO, and the Sippy Cups. Traditional backyard grub will be on hand, as well as a variety of games and activities – fit for all ages. One moment you could be spitting seeds and the next, engaging in a heated tug-o-war match. Other entertaining opportunities include football flings, soccer kicks, and badminton.

Starting at 10am, registration opens for the Good Walk for Kids fundraising walk with the main festivities kicking off at 11am. Keep in mind that the Main Stage will host musical guests, while the Kids Stage promises an assortment of amusing performances, including:

• Twistyman Balloon Art (12pm)
• Dan the Magic Man (1:30pm)
• Puppet Show: California Puppets (2:15pm)
• Rocky Steady Juggling (3:15pm)
• Bronkar’s Circus of Sound (4:15pm)
