In conjunction with the San Francisco Botanical Gardens at Strybing Arboretum, learn how to take back your outdoor space with “Sidewalk Landscaping” – a hands-on workshop centered on showing you how to create your very own piece of visual magic within your neighborhood. With a special city permit in hand, homeowners are reclaiming their green surroundings by transforming their sidewalk into a planter’s delight.
Strybing Arboretum at Golden Gate Park is offering the wisdom of Jane Martin of Plant*SF, who will fully explain the permit process, as well as highlight easy-to execute designs and attractive combinations that promotes the beauty of native San Franciscan plants. This particular workshop will take place Saturday (March 29th, 10am-3pm) and Sunday (March 30th, 10am-2pm).
If for some chance you have received a “30-Day Notice to Repair” your sidewalk – this is also a great way to learn how to satisfy repair requirements, as well as personally take control of the outcome. Some individuals have been granted extensions for their 30-day warning just by notifying the sidewalk inspector that they’ve already taken steps to expand upon the typical sidewalk quick-fix.
Strybing Arboretum Cost: $75 (members); $85 (non-members)
