This past weekend, the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park hosted the wedding reception for the son of former presidential Republican candidate, John McCain. After his son Jack McCain and new bride Renee Swift tied the knot at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, the wedding party continued to celebrate the nuptials at the Academy, which has a reputation for transforming into a romantic setting for a variety of private parties and events, including weddings.

Not only can you plan a wedding reception at the Academy, but you can also arrange a walk down the aisle at this popular Golden Gate Park attraction. The Academy offers several different packages to consider, including renting the entire museum for $18,500 or holding just the ceremony in one of numerous event spaces for the cost of $4,000.

Past celebrations at the California Academy of Sciences have also involved cocktail hours, dinners, and dancing at one of the event spaces, which includes the Aquarium, East Pavilion, Piazza, African Hall, and Rainforest. The Planetarium is also available for the booking of ceremonies only. For a limited amount of time, party-goers may also enjoy access to the Living Roof to take wedding party photos.
