Golden Gate Park is a popular place for locals to spend holidays and other observances. This Mother’s Day, a lot of Moms paid a visit to the park with their families to enjoy the sights and activities offered this past weekend.

For starters, the San Francisco Rose Society’s Mother’s Day Rose Show was a success, which was not only a treat for Moms, but also for gardening enthusiasts. We all know that roses are one of the most favorite blooms to present on Mother’s Day, and every year, the San Francisco Rose Society holds a Mother’s Day Rose Show, which culminates with a free rose. Held at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., the event includes an array of flowers, including arrangements and people on hand to answer questions.

This past weekend, mothers and their families were also seen venturing throughout Golden Gate Park on bikes – a perfect way to spend time together, which also stays in line with May being Bike Month.

Other mothers chose to gather at the Music Concourse taking in the sounds of the Golden Gate Park Band, which presented a free concert featuring Armenian music and dancing – to pay homage to Armenian Independence Day. Don’t forget that themed concerts are held in Golden Gate Park every Sunday – starting at 1 p.m. at the Music Concourse.
