In the United States alone, the Lung Cancer Review reports that 450 people will die every day from lung cancer. This Sunday, you can do your part to place a dent in the destruction. On August 2nd, 2009, you can join hundreds of lung cancer survivors, family, friends, advocates and volunteers for the first annual “Golden Gait” 5K Walk/Run.
Thanks to the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation, you can participate in an event that helps raise awareness and funds for lung cancer advocacy, patient support and research. The starting point for this walk/run is at the Bandshell in Golden Gate Park, located between the Academy of Sciences and DeYoung Museum. Registration starts at 3:30 with the walk/run beginning at 4:30 on the dot. A celebration and candlelight victory lap will follow between 5:30 and 7:30 pm.
It’s not too late to register to run, walk or join/create a team by paying a visit to www.lungcancerfoundation.org. For more details, you can also call or contact 415-821-9683 or [email protected]
