All over San Francisco, 30 local attractions will open their doors to city resident families on January 11th for free entry during the fourth annual Family Appreciation Day. Participating in this citywide event is the California Academy of Sciences (55 Music Concourse Drive), located at Golden Gate Park, from 11am to 5pm.

Keep in mind that this event is free only to San Francisco-based families. Families must prove San Francisco residency with a driver’s license or ID card; utility bill (gas/electric/cable); bank statement; or postmarked envelope, postcard, or magazine label with name and date. Children under the age of 18 must be present with an adult. Keep in mind that free admission is on a first come, first served basis. Large crowds are expected to arrive at the California Academy of Sciences on this day, so if you want to avoid long lines – come early!

Another perk of Family Appreciation Day includes free rides for kids on the Culture Bus and MUNI from 10am to 4pm. For more details, call 415-379-8000 or visit www.calacademy.org.
