If you don’t feel like popping a ham into the oven to prepare an Easter feast at home, Golden Gate Park has you covered. On April 4, 2010, enjoy an Easter Brunch and BBQ at the Park and Beach Chalet. This kid-friendly event starts with brunch at 10am with an egg hunt for children. The Easter Bunny will also make a guest appearance at 11am. Tickets are $30 and under. For more details and to reserve your space, click here or call (415) 386-8439.

If the weather is nice, the first Summer BBQ at Park Chalet will also kick off on April 3 and 4 – from 10am to sundown. Park Chalet BBQs will then continue every Saturday and Sunday afterwards until the winter season hits.

If you’re looking for other ways to spend your Easter weekend, the California Academy of Sciences has extended hours until 6:30pm on April 4. Art enthusiasts might want to check out the de Young Museum, where they offer a docent tour called Amish Abstractions: Quilts from the Collection of Faith and Stephen Brown (11:30am to 12:20pm and 1:30pm and 2:20pm). A docent lecture titled “Amish Quilts: Geometry and Simplicity, Community and Belief” also takes place from 1pm to 1:50pm.
