When you’re looking for an outing this weekend that enlightens the mind of your child or young relative, open their eyes to the wonderful world of literary garden scenes and the beauty of the San Francisco Botanical Garden. This fun, uncomplicated, and best of all, free event offers a comfortable setting with cushions fit for younger visitors. Surrounded by stuffed animals and entertaining readers, Children’s Story Time is a stimulating event open to all on Sunday, January 18th 2009 at 10:30am.

Just when you thought it doesn’t get any better than stories focused on plants, gardens, and growing things, the San Francisco Botanical Garden follows their story time with a special tour of the garden – led by a docent trained to keep the interest of children between the ages of four and eight. Many parents tote along a picnic or brown bag lunch to further take in the sights after the activites.

Unable to attend this weekend? Don’t forget to mark your calendar for near-future story time gatherings: February 1st and February 15th. Children’s Story Time at the San Francisco Botanical Garden takes place on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at 10:30 am. The reading of the book lasts about 30 minutes with the tour departing at 11am.
